Dear Alumni Members:
Attention!!! Dissolution of Organization is Eminent! Your IMMEDIATE Response Necessary!!!!
As the interim President of the Bayard High School Alumni Association I wish to call your attention to an urgent matter that came up during the membership meeting at the last reunion. Please refer to the minutes of the meeting, and note the motion that is on the table, duly seconded, but tabled in order to provide time to contact all the members, and possibly allow more discussion, prior to an actual vote on the motion.
A major part of the problem is that nobody appears willing to commit to fill offices of the Executive Committee that were being vacated due to ending terms of office, and resignation.
You will please note that the motion was tabled only after I agreed to accept the President of the BHS Alumni Association on an interim basis. Other officers then also agreed to continue on an interim basis, until the membership could be contacted to notify them of the impending vote on the original motion.
The original motion is hereby published in the minutes of the meeting enclosed in this mailing.
Please note that a vote in favor of the motion would totally disband the BHS Alumni Association, and totally distribute the funds remaining in the treasury to student scholarships going to qualified Seniors of Bayard High School that would graduate this coming Spring.
Such action would NOT prevent individual class reunions from conducting their own reunion activities, but instead would end all activities of the ALL CLASS reunions and scholarship support.
I urge your immediate response and return of the enclosed ballot, postmarked to arrive at the BHS Alumni Association mailbox no later than December 1, 2011. Any ballots that are NOT returned by that date will be counted as a YES vote on the motion.
A YES vote will totally disband the BHS Alumni Association.
